Ramblings with Rin: nails

Nail art is the easiest way to show off a bit of your personality! Every two weeks, I search through my Pinterest library to find some inspiration for my spring nails. I've been mildly obsessed with these white and glitter nails, so I thought it was time to finally try them out!

I am always on the hunt for different manicures that I can try out. This morning I was in my kitchen grabbing something and I notice the container of tinfoil, and all of the sudden I felt inspired to do a tin foil manicure! Let me know what you guys think.

What You Need:

-Foil

-Clear polish

-Scissors

Paint a coat of clear polish on your nail. Let sit for a couple of seconds and then place foil on top of nail. Press down on the foil making sure it adheres to the whole nail.

Leave the foil for about 30 seconds, and then use a small pair of scissors to trim around the edges.

Repeat for all nails, and voila! An edgy, cheap manicure

**Take note: This is not a fast manicure. It takes patience but is worth it!

I am always on the hunt for fresh, simple nail tutorials. Being that I change my nail color often, the plain colors I have get boring after awhile. When I stumbled on this pin on pinterest, the simplicity of the manicure caught my eye(not to mention the neon and grey combo). I gathered my materials and got to work!

What You Will Need:

- Base color (I used a grey)

- Makeup Sponge

-Second Color (I used a coral)

-Top Coat

Paint your nails using the base color that you chose. Let them fully dry.

Soak your makeup sponge in some water and then squeeze the water out so it is slightly damp.

Take your second color and apply to the top of the makeup sponge (the amount you add depends on how thick you want the color)

Dab the tip of the makeup sponge on the tip of your nail until you like the color and look. Repeat that for all of your nails. While they are still slightly wet, add a top coat. This is to spread the color giving it that "ombre" look.

Finished Product!

I ran across this manicure the other day and thought it was a fun one to re-create. Warning, this is not a manicure for the impatient. Apply your base coat the day prior to avoid the nail color being lifted by the tape. Side Note: please ignore my cuticles; they tend to be a mess when I'm stressed.

Choose a base color to paint your nails, I chose a grey. Essie's Playa Del Platinum is a nice shade!

Once that completely dries, take a piece of scotch tape and place the corner of the piece at the top of your nail.

Using your second color, paint over the nail. I used coral color similar to Essie's Orange, it's obvious.

While that dries, take two pieces of tape and overlap them at the bottom of your nail so the top of the nail is now exposed.

Paint over the nail again. Repeat process alternating nails, and let completely dry. Then, carefully peel of the tape.

I have recently been obsessed with the accent nail manicure and glitter, so when I stumbled upon this post a few weeks ago I couldn't wait to try it out. Now that I have found the perfect nail color to pair with my gold glitter, it is time to finally test it out.

- Nail Color {I am using Wet N' Wild's Everybody loves Redmond}

- Clear Top Coat
