Ramblings with Rin

Yesterday, I told you that I hit the jackpot at Goodwill on Saturday, and what kind of blogger would I be if I didn't document that? It was a busy day, seeing as everything was 50% off, but that didn't stop me from rummaging through endless racks of clothing. I was in the search for a collared button down sleeveless top, and I pretty much cleared them out of all the decent ones. Not to mention I found this great silk, tie dye shirt from Urban Outfitters. It took a lot of time, but it was well worth the search.

 Tie Dye Cropped Shirt: $2
 Floral Print Collared Shirt: $2
 Pink Button Up Shirt: $2
 Orange Button Up Shirt: $2
Grand Total:
4 shirts
$8

I am sure by now you are all aware of my intense addiction to goodwill and any good deal. Well yesterday when Goodwill tweeted that it was 50% off day, I grabbed my sister, my phone, and my keys and headed to the happiest place on Earth (well for me anyways). I get a lot of questions about thrift store shopping and how I do it, so I thought I would visually show you the process. As you will see the narrowing down part is the hardest, but I always look for a good print or color! My sister was a bit rusty for her first time; however there will be more videos in the future, so stayed tuned!

Process:
1.) Be open minded: take risks try new things.
2.) If you are attracted to something in anyway TRY IT ON! I can't stress this enough it may look kind of ridiculous on the hanger, but you never know how it could look on you!
3.) Be patient: it takes time to sift through the racks but that's part of the joy.
4.) Ignore the smell: I hear a lot of people don't like Goodwill because of the smell, but honestly all I ever smell is a good deal. Five dollar Ray ban sunglass: I will tolerate any smell for that
5.) Have fun! Joke around try things on just for fun. It kind of gets you in the mood!

This past Saturday me and a friend did some well over-due thrift store shopping! We made our rounds to Goodwill and our new favorite local vintage store: Cheap Thrills before we ate our much needed fast food (our once-a-week indulgence). Not only did I find my very own Dillion Panthers jacket (for you Friday Night Lights viewers) but I also found this mirror I have been itching to buy.

For those of you who aren't aware, I am a goodwill junkie. Most of my friends are well aware of the fact that I will do everything in my power to get the most bang for my buck especially when it comes to clothing. That is why it comes as no surprise that I am every one's favorite Goodwill shopping buddy. My friend Raquel and I have very similar personal styles; we both like to take risks and try on the craziest garments because you can never know how something looks until you try it on. So when she asked to come to Goodwill with me on Friday I was ecstatic. We both tried on ridiculous frocks (Although it seems that I snap pictures of hers ensembles), and had a grand 'ole time!

Yes, that is a romper

Loved this jacket-minus the shoulder pads

Leopard pants that were more of a joke try on

This dress caught my eye because of the DVF like patterns

High waisted black skirt- classic

White shorts-still trying to decide if these were a good buy or not
