Ramblings with Rin

Dear readers,
As of now I might be out of contact on here. My laptop currently has been hijacked by a virus and I am unable to have access to the Internet on a regular basis. I will try my hardest to get back and moving on a regular basis but for now I will only post sparsely. I hope you understand and will stick with me until I can figure this out.

Thank you so much!
xoxo
Rin

Months ago, I found an image of a nail polish that crackled to create an edgy look. I looked high and low to find a brand that I could find in stores, but unfortunately, the crackle polish was only available online, and my spirits were crushed. I thought only about that nail polish for months until I learned that O.P.I would be releasing a shatter top coat in their Katy Perry collection. I was thrilled and eagerly waited for it to come to my local Ulta, which just so happens was yesterday. So, I headed on over and bought the new lacquer. Unable to wait until I got home, I opened the bottle in my car and painted them right there. Slowly, I could see the black top coat chip and break a part until I got the crackle look I had been waiting months for. So, head over to any beauty supply store that carries O.P.I and try out the Shatter Top Coat, you won't be disappointed.

One of my goals for this new year was to try and create a post that I would consistently write about on a weekly basis. I spent endless minutes thinking and brainstorming different topics to share with my readers every Friday. Throughout the week, I search through hundreds of blogs and fashion related websites, and I come across infinite amounts of inspiration. So, I thought that every Friday I would post the five tops looks that inspired me through the week.

This week is the trial run, so I would love to hear your feedback! If my readers have any other ideas for a consistent post you much rather read, feel free to leave a comment or e-mail me!

1.) Coral Nails

2.) Bold, Colorful Necklaces Like This One From Dior

3.) Cage Rings

4.) Half Sheer Maxi-Skirts

5.) The Double Knot Up Do from the Refinery29

It's spring time, which means bold, bright colors combined with fun and playful prints. While on searching through Spring RTW line on style.com, I came across Shipley and Halmos' collection. Look after look was filled with vivacious personality and interactive backdrops, and it didn't just stop there. I ventured over to their Website, where their intro page is filled with charming, fascinating footage of their collections and products. Casual, playful, and Chic this collection is perfect for the everyday lively girl.

With Spring just around the corner, I thought it would be the perfect time to share my favorite nail color trends for the season. Muted, neutral palettes seem to be just the ticket this Spring. Corals, Lavenders, blues, and nudes are all Lacquers we are seeing. To add a little flare, try the shatter top coat from O.P.I's Katy Perry Collection available now. So, head out to your local beauty store and try some of my favorite nail color trends.

After and incredibly stressful day yesterday, I was finally given a day to relax and do an impromtu photoshoot with my dear friend Emma. Everytime I drive to her house I pass this foutain and always think what a great place for an outfit post. Today was a pretty relaxed day so I thought I would go for a casual look. Plus, I wanted to show off my amazing Keds that I got for $2!

It's time for me to release my inner hippie, and I am doing so with feather hair extensions. I first saw these on a dear friend of mine a few months ago and instantly fell in love. Since then, I have seen the trend start to gain ground especially after seeing them on Refinery29. This whimsical, quirky hair accessory is an easy way to add visual interest with out breaking the bank (DIY post to come).

Today was the first day of new classes, and while I was completely overwhelmed with syllubi and final projects, I felt extreemly inspired. After a long, grueling eight hours at school I came home and completed both DIY projects I set out to do (Posts to come later this week).

(Shirt&Blazer from Goodwill, Jeans&Shoes from Last Chance, and Headband: DIY)

My DIY pearl nails. While this task was time consuming and frustrating, the final outcome was well worth the struggle.

With Spring just around the corner, I thought I would start doing a preview of some of my favorite Lookbooks for the upcoming season. ASOS was released a couple of days ago, and I picked out some of my favorite looks (there were quite a few)to share with my readers. In their look book I saw a great deal of 90's flashback with a hint of retro feel when it comes to the accessories. Bags, shoes, and eyewear resemble those that were worn during the 50's; while shorts, tops, and dresses used fabrics and motifs many of us 90's kids were used to seeing.
