Statement Brooches

A couple of quarters ago in school I took a trends and concepts class, and part of our weekly homework assignments was to do trend pages of fall, spring, and next fall. Well, its next fall so I took out my old trend pages to see if any of them actually became trends.

There was one that did, and that was statement brooches. I had predicted that with the popularity of basic blazers that people would be looking for easy ways to add some variety to their jackets. Well, today as I was reading the New York Magazine, I came across a slide show full of big, statement brooches.
